Viacom and Altice USA Announce Advanced Advertising and Content Distribution Partnership



NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Viacom Inc. (NASDAQ:VIAB)(NASDAQ:VIA) and Altice USA today announce a multi-year partnership that includes advanced advertising and content distribution agreements.

Viacom and Altice USA will create an unprecedented, industry-leading partnership that combines Altice USA’s unique audience data, multi-screen advertising platforms, measurement and analytics capabilities with Viacom’s advanced advertising offerings to deliver local and national advertising across multiple screens, including TV, mobile, tablet and desktop.

The content distribution arrangement includes an early carriage renewal of Viacom’s premier networks in the Optimum system and the return of a number of Viacom networks in Suddenlink systems, as well as additional rights for the distribution of multi-platform, digital and next-generation Viacom content including select virtual reality and 4K for Altice USA’s current and future customer offerings. Viacom’s networks include Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, BET, Nick Jr., VH1, Spike (which will be rebranded as the Paramount Network in 2018), TV Land, and CMT, among others.

Australia Post Unveils "PAW Patrol" Stamp Collection

Collectors can put a Paw Patrol stamp on it!

Nickelodeon | Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) has extended the reach of the channels' number one preschool series PAW Patrol, with the release of a PAWsome Paw Patrol souvenir stamp pack in conjunction with Australia Post!


Released on Monday 15th May 2017, families across Australia can purchase stamps of their favourite Paw Patrol friends as a highly collectable souvenir pack at participating Post Offices, via mail order and online, while stocks last.

Paw Patrol characters are featured in the tabs of the domestic base-rate ($1) stamps. The $1 stamps feature balloons and are from the Love to Celebrate stamp issue.

“This special stamp pack is sure to be a hit with young collectors who follow the Paw Patrol show,” Australia Post Philatelic Manager Michael Zsolt said.

“Souvenir stamp packs have proven very popular, and we believe the Paw Patrol pack will be no exception.”

“We are thrilled to encourage the next generation of letter writers put their favourite pups on their post,” Claire O'Connor, Vice President (VP), NVCP Asia Pacific said.

About Cardcaptors:


Meet Sakura Kinomoto - she's an ordinary girl, in an extraordinary world! A world of magic, mystery and mayhem as she struggles to recapture the legendary Clow Cards, which each have a power all their own!

Sakura is an elementary school student who discovers that she possesses magical powers after accidentally freeing a set of magical cards from the book they had been sealed in for years. She is then tasked with retrieving those cards in order to avoid an unknown catastrophe from befalling the world.

Sakura can use the cards she's already captured to help her in her quest to capture more - and she's got a little extra help too, in the form of Keroberos - Kero for short - the guardian of the cards. He's always on hand to give advice - whether it's wanted or not!

It's not as simple as it looks, though, because Sakura has competition. The new kid in town, Li, is also collecting the Clow Cards, and he thinks he's a lot better at it than Sakura is. Even so, when Li and Sakura get together, the Clow Cards have nowhere to hide!

CardCaptors premiered on Nickelodeon UK in 2001. The series is based on a Japanese animated series ('anime') called Cardcaptor Sakura ((カードキャプターさくら, Kādokyaputā Sakura), which was created by an all-female team of writers and artists known as 'Clamp'. Clamp have created lots of Japan's best-known animated series, comics, and graphic novels.

Card Captor Sakura the TV series was itself based on best-selling comics and graphic novels (known as 'manga') of the same name. It was a big hit both in Japan, where it was serialized in Nakayoshi, and around the world, with children and adults alike. A sequel by Clamp titled Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Edition focusing on Sakura in junior high school began serialization in Nakayoshi with the July 2016 issue. An anime television series adaptation of Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Edition has been announced for January 2018.

In the US, Madman Entertainment released Cardcaptor Sakura in its uncut form in two DVD collection boxes in September 2012 and November 2012. NIS America re-released the entire series on DVD and Blu-ray in August 2014, featuring Japanese audio and an unedited English dub.


Cardcaptor Sakura is directed by Morio Asaka and animated and produced by Madhouse.

The original Card Captor Sakura anime TV series ran for 70 episodes over three seasons between 1998-2001. The North America dub by Nelvana ran for 39 episodes, which were heavily edited and reordered, with some episodes left out completely.

Potentially controversial material was removed, and the series was refocused to be more action oriented to try to appeal to male viewers, as they were seen as the largest audience of animation at the time. Cardcaptors first aired in the United States on Kids' WB between June 17, 2000 and December 14, 2001. In the Kids' WB broadcast, the first episode aired was "Sakura's Rival", the eighth episode of the series, having removed episodes focusing on Sakura and to have the show start with Syaoran Li's arrival. The series ran for 39 episodes, changing the original episode order but finishing with the show's actual final episode. In Nelvana's airing of the series in the United Kingdom in 2001 on Nickelodeon and CITV, the skipped episodes were restored, but other edits remained.

Cardcaptors dub, including the episodes skipped in the North American broadcast, also aired in Australia on Network Ten and Cartoon Network (with an English cover of the first opening theme instead of the American one), in Ireland on RTÉ Network 2, and in Canada on Teletoon (which also aired the episodes with a French dub). Animax created an English dub of the series as well, which it broadcast on its English-language networks in Southeast Asia and South Asia. The series was broadcast under its original name in Latin America and Spain.

Some of the character names in CardCaptors are slightly different from the original Japanese series - for example, Sakura's best friend Madison was originally called 'Tomoyo', and Julian Star was originally 'Yukito.'

Marc Summers and "Dunkel Dare" to return to Frankford Hall in June 2017

"The first year "we said, 'This is never going to work.' Then when people were lined up at 2 in the afternoon, I figured, 'This could be something,'" Marc Summers told Philly.com about Philly Beer Week 2012.

"This" is Dunkel Dare - what Summers describes as "drunken Double Dare," after the outrageous Nickelodeon game-show series he hosted from 1986 to 1993.

Summers, Harvey, the announcer, and Robin Marella, his stage assistant, will return to the scene of the slime: It's coming to Frankford Hall (1210 Frankford Ave.) in Fishtown on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd June 2017 - and for the first time, it's happening outside of Philly Beer Week.

"Basically," Summers said of Dunkel Dare, "we're doing the same old crap we've been doing for years: pies, slime, ask questions, and do physical challenges."

There will be beer and pop-culture trivia and games such as Pie in the Pants, High-Five, and the Slopstacle Course. Four teams each will comprise brewery representatives, local celebrities, and one member of the crowd.

Why is it such a hit? "Nickelodeon did some research, and based on what is going on the world, people want to go back to their childhood," Summers said. "This just rejuvenates good feelings."


"It gives the people what they want," he said. "Let's go back to when we were young. Add liquor and the original guy who comes out and screws with the audience. Now [the contestants] are grown-ups and they slime themselves and love it."

Rounds one and two are up Wednesday, June 21, and the championship round is Thursday, June 22. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and games are from 7 to 11 p.m. The event is free, and is open to everyone aged 21-plus.

Nickelodeon Australia And New Zealand To Premiere "Bunsen Is A Beast" On Monday 5th June 2017

A beast and a human form an unlikely friendship in Nickelodeon's newest animated series Bunsen is a Beast, premiering on Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand on Monday 5th June 2017 at 4:30pm (AU; NZ time TBA)!! Created and executive produced by Butch Hartman (The Fairly OddParents), the 20-episode series follows the adventures of Bunsen, the first beast to attend a human grade school, and his best friend Mikey. Following the shows debut, new episodes will air regularly weekdays at 4:30pm (AU).

Bunsen is a Beast tells the story of Bunsen and Mikey, two new friends who embark on endless fun and adventures in their town of Muckledunk. As the first beast ever to attend a middle school for human kids, Bunsen feels the pressure to succeed and prove to the world that monsters can live among humans…and they won't eat everyone for lunch. With help from Mikey, Bunsen will learn how to accomplish human world tasks, like, doing homework, eating ice cream, and riding the bus. In turn, Mikey will learn to navigate the Beast World and meet all the weird and wonderful beasts that reside there.

In the series premiere, "Bunsen is a Beast!", Bunsen attends his first day of human middle school in hopes to prove that beasts and humans can happily co-exist. Then, in "Body and the Beast", Bunsen literally loses his head on picture day and Mikey has to help him find it before picture time.

Next, in "Hide and Go Freak" / Bunsen Screams for Ice Cream", premiering on Tuesday 6th June 2017, Bunsen, Mikey, and Amanda (disguised as a beast) play the beast version of Hide and Go Seek in Bunsen's house. Then, Bunsen's love of ice-cream almost gets him expelled.

Then, in "Bearly Acceptable Behavior" / "Beast Busters", Amanda tries to get Bunsen kicked out of school when he brings a dangerous bear to class. Later, Bunsen and Mikey have to save Amanda from mischievous Sneeze Beasts that escape from Bunsen's nose.

Bunsen is a Beast is produced by Nickelodeon in Burbank, which officially opened the doors to its newly expanded building -- an over 200,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art, sustainable complex on January 11.

Hartman began his animation career as an assistant animator on An American Tail. He created his own shorts for What a Cartoon!, and also wrote and directed episodes of Dexter's Laboratory, Cow & Chicken and Johnny Bravo. Bunsen is a Beast marks Hartman’s fourth animated series for Nickelodeon. Hartman joined Nickelodeon in 1998 where he created and produced several cartoon shorts for the Oh Yeah! Cartoons series, including The Fairly OddParents. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of the animated series, Hartman brought the series to life in the 2010 live-action/CG animated hit TV movie, A Fairly OddMovie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner! The series came to life once again in the original TV movie, A Fairly Odd Christmas in 2012 and A Fairly OddSummer in 2014. Hartman is also the creator of Nickelodeon's animated series Danny Phantom and T.U.F.F. Puppy.


In addition to his work with Nickelodeon, Hartman has also created the Noog Network, a mobile app that features interactive games, cartoons and live shows. “I kind of never stop. I never sleep. I just like to draw and put ideas down. And every idea that Nickelodeon doesn’t buy I put on the Noog Network,” explains Hartman. He notes that Noog is a good place to try out new ideas and see how they go over in a short amount of time.

The actor will be voicing a new character on Nickelodeon's hit animated series The Loud House named Carlota Casagrande — who just happens to be Bobby Santiago's cousin. Bobby is voiced by Carlos.


In the brand-new half-hour special episode of The Loud House, "The Loudest Mission", premiering Monday 29th May 2017 at 7:00pm ET/PT on Nickelodeon USA, the show will introduce the Casagrande family — a fam of eight who live under one roof, along with Lalo, their Cat-fearing Bull mastiff and Sergio, the family's loudmouth Parrot.

The rest of the Casagrande family is voiced by Carlos Alazraqui (The Fairly OddParents, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie) as Carlos; Roxana Ortega (Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous) as Frida; Jared Kozak (Teens Wanna Know) as CJ; Ruben Garfias (East Los High) as Hector; Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street) as Rosa; and Sumalee Montano (Days of Our Lives, ER, Lego Dimensions) as Maria.

NEW YORK–May 23, 2017– Nickelodeon today announced the global consumer products program for 14-year-old singer, dancer, performer and social media influencer JoJo Siwa, which includes the launch of products across multiple categories in the U.S. and markets including the UK, Australia and Canada. Inspired by Siwa’s positive messages and her love of rainbows and emojis, the robust line spans accessories, apparel, arts & craft, cosmetics, costumes, dance and athleisure wear, dolls, dress up and role play, electronics, games, home goods, party, publishing, a subscription box and stationery. The program also includes a brand-new partnership with Danskin that marks the brand’s first-ever co-branded collection for kids.

Select items in the JoJo Siwa consumer products line, including first to market retail exclusives and direct to retail programs at select retailers, are available in stores now in the U.S. and the full line will continue to roll out in the coming months. Siwa is being introduced to international markets with deals currently underway in the UK, Australia and Canada across a variety of categories including: accessories, apparel, toys, crafts, home décor and more.

Blaze and the Monster Machines take a ride on the wild side in all-new "Wild Wheels" animal-themed specials featuring guest voice appearances by internationally renowned multi-platinum recording artist and acclaimed actor, Billy Ray Cyrus and Grammy-nominated and platinum-selling singer-songwriter, Kelsea Ballerini. The first special, "Animal Island," featuring Cyrus as Lazard, a greedy lizard-truck, premieres Monday, May 29, at 12pm (ET/PT), followed by "Toucan Do It!" featuring Ballerini as Tooks, an athletic toucan-truck, on Wednesday, May 31, at 12pm (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. Nickelodeon Acquires International Broadcast Rights For "The Day Henry Met" Seasons Three And Four

Nickelodeon has picked up the international broadcast rights to seasons three and four of the Irish-produced award-winning animated preschool The Day Henry Met! Additionally, Nickelodeon International has renewed it's existing rights to seasons one and two from the show's distributors.

The first two seasons of The Day Henry Met currently airs on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels across six continents, including the UK and Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, Scandinavia (Sweden, Denmark and Norway), Iceland, Benelux (Netherlands and Belgium), Finland, Iceland, Germany, Switzerland & Austria (GSA), Greece, Italy, Portugal, Central & Eastern Europe, Russia, Israel, Africa, South East Asia and Asia Pacific, India, the Middle East and Latin America.

The deal brings the Irish show to an audience of 1.1bn subscribers in more than 170 countries.


Aimed at the preschool audience, The Day Henry Met..? is a 2D animated preschool series that encourages children to use their imagination and discover the world around them through play and adventure. In every episode Henry, a charming, inquisitive little boy, meets something new, which becomes the focus of his journey of discovery and adventure, ultimately teaching viewers about real-life objects and occupations. The Day Henry Met has built a legion of young fans across the globe.

The Day Henry Met is produced by Dublin-based Wiggleywoo Ltd. and distributed by Monster Entertainment. The series is funded by RTÉjr, The Irish Film Board, Section 481, Creative Europe and pre-sales. The new deal with Nickelodeon is a major coup for Monster Entertainment and Wiggleywoo, and is a boost for the digital and animation industry in Ireland.


The show was launched at MIP Junior 2015 and won the Pulcinella Award for Best European Work at Cartoons on the Bay in 2015. In March 2017 the series also won Best Animation at the Irish Animation Awards.

The Day Henry Met has also been sold to RTÉ in Ireland; TVOntario, Télévision Française de l’Ontario and Knowledge Network in Canada; Canal Plus for all French-speaking territories worldwide; ABC in Australia; Kids TV in Korea; Yle in Finland; and SVT in Sweden.

BURBANK, Calif.--May 23, 2017--Nickelodeon today announced that SpongeBob SquarePants, the number-one animated show for kids 2-11 and kids 6-11, has been greenlit for season 12. The 26-episode pick up will further the nautical adventures of SpongeBob and his Bikini Bottom friends Patrick, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, Plankton and Squidward. Season 12 is scheduled to premiere in 2019, the series’ 20th anniversary year.

The pickup comes on the heels of the recent announcement for a third SpongeBob SquarePants theatrical from Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies, also slated for 2019.


SpongeBob SquarePants, the most-watched animated program with kids for more than 15 consecutive years, will debut season 11 later this summer, and feature the return of fan favorite characters including: the mischievous pencil-drawing Doodle Bob; SpongeBob’s friend and creation Bubble Buddy; the super villain Man Ray; and Cave SpongeBob, who made his debut in season one.

SpongeBob SquarePants is voiced by veteran cast members: Tom Kenny as SpongeBob SquarePants, an incurably optimistic sea sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea; Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick Star, SpongeBob's silly best friend; Roger Bumpass as Squidward, an aloof cashier of The Krusty Krab and SpongeBob’s neighbor; Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob's boss and greedy owner of The Krusty Krab; Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks, Bikini Bottom's only resident rodent aquanaut and scientist; and Mr. Lawrence as Plankton, owner of the Chum Bucket and chief rival of Mr. Krabs.


Since 1999, many notable guest stars have voiced imaginative characters, including: Amy Poehler, Mark Hamill, David Bowie, Alton Brown, Johnny Depp, Dennis Quaid, Ricky Gervais, Rosario Dawson, LeBron James, Tina Fey, Craig Ferguson, Will Ferrell, P!nk, Victoria Beckham, Kristin Wiig, Ginnifer Goodwin, John Goodman, Andy Samberg, Johnny Knoxville, Bob Barker, Betty White, Aubrey Plaza, and Jon Hamm, among others.

Hillenburg created and executive produced his first feature film, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, which debuted Nov. 19, 2004 and his second theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, hit theaters Feb. 6, 2015.
