Nickelodeon Fruit Shoot Skills Awards 2012 Nominee DJ Jack Hill Awarded Six Guinness World Records

Below is a news article from the Birmingham Mail about World Record holder Jack Hill, who has been named 'World's Youngest DJ' by the Guinness Book of World Records, and who was nominated to win the 'Rising Music Star' award at the Nickelodeon Fruit Shoot Skills Awards 2012 for his DJ skills:
Birmingham DJ Jack has been mixing it up since he was just six

12-year-old former Great Barr schoolboy is a master of decknology and has performed in Benidorm, Germany and Italy

Jack Hill is a big name in clubbing - and he's only 12

Young Jack Hill's pals think he's as famous as Justin Bieber – and his six Guinness World Records prove he is no ordinary schoolboy.

The former Great Barr lad has been recognised as the world’s youngest DJ and is listed in five other categories for his skills behind the decks, including his latest accolade as youngest producer.

World bests aren’t the only records loved by the 12-year-old twin, who now lives in Weston-Super-Mare.

He’s appeared on TV and radio, produced his own songs and performed across the continent at gigs.

His new release Club Shaker has just been issued and Jack is hoping it will gain even more success than his previous hit Club DJ, which was a best-seller locally and got into the Top 20 national electronica lists.

Jack, whose twin is Harry, began mixing when he was just six.

He’s had his own Sunday morning radio show on Nova FM in Somerset for the past four years and has performed in Benidorm, Germany and Italy with more gigs lined up for Turkey and Spain this summer.

He even headlined at the ICC in Birmingham last July when he triumphed in a competition run by satellite TV channel Nickelodeon.

Dad Bob, himself a former DJ at venues across Birmingham, said he was so proud of his son.

“Jack is moving away from live gigs now and is concentrating more on the producing and radio side of the business – but we always make sure he never does anything that might affect his school work,” said Bob.

“It’s wonderful that he is officially recognised as the world’s youngest disc jockey.”

Jack, who loves dubstep and dance music, wants to emulate global mix stars Tiesto and David Guetta.

He was even contacted by Dutch musician and producer Tiesto when he won his latest award.

“Tiesto is his favourite and Jack was gobsmacked when he contacted him to offer his congratulations.

“He told Jack he was watching his career closely and we hope they can perform together at some stage,” added Bob, a former Birmingham City Council building inspector.

“However, I don’t think Justin Bieber's his cup of tea. Jack is too well-behaved!”
