'SpongeBob SquarePants', 'Hey Duggee' And Blue-Zoo Animation Studio Win Big At The 2017 British Academy Children's Awards

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced the exciting news that Nickelodeon's hit original animated series (Nicktoon) SpongeBob SquarePants won the best 'International' series accolade in this years Children's BAFTA Awards, British Academy Children's Awards 2017, which honours the very best in children's media!


Nickelodeon picked up the award at the prestigious British Academy Children's Awards 2017 ceremony hosted by British actor, writer and comedian Doc Brown at the Roundhouse, London, on Sunday 26th November 2017.

In addition to SpongeBob SquarePants, the popular animated preschool series Hey Duggee, which airs on Nick Jr. USA, also picked up two awards at the ceremony: the series won for best 'Preschool - Animation', and the popular Hey Duggee – We Love Animals app scooped up the 'Interactive' category award.

The night also saw Blue-Zoo Animation Studio, the production studio behind Nick Jr. UK's hit Digby Dragon, crowned 'Independent Production Company of the Year'.
